My entire GWAR collection is going up there, along with other bands, so they'll stop taking up space on my computer

That show will be packed to the rafters  for sure!
Apparently they don't think so. Only reason this isn't a full tour they won't make any money and most people won't go out to see a GWAR show that basically lacks almost everything that is a GWAR show.
3  General Category / The Dim Times / Death Piggy Reunion! on: June 18, 2009, 03:08:34 pm
Death Piggy, the punk band that spawn the music sensation GWAR will be getting back together for a one time reunion show @ Alley Katz in Richmond, VA Sept 25th 2009. The line-up will be Dave Brockie [vocals, bass], Russ Bahorsky [guitar/vocals], Jim Thompson [drums]. Chris Bospt, who replaced Dave Brockie on bass towards the end of Death Piggy's career and also the first BalSac of GWAR will jam with them at some point in the show. Steve Douglas is still in the ""maybe" column not because he doesn't want to do it but he now is in Asia that there is no money for this trip.

Here's the audio, in a zip, if that's good enough.

Uh, no, I don't, actually. I have something that might make you happy, though. Along time ago, I downloaded the video for Hanging Out at the Pound (It's a strange format, the raw file is no use to anyone), shredded it in a complexicated process, and turned most of the songs into .wma audio files. It's not the whole show, but a good majority. There's also a way of buying it on GWAR.net, but pirates like us are too good to buy things! Tongue.
6  Just for fun! / Bands GWAR need to kill / Re: Top 5 Favorite Bassists on: June 12, 2009, 03:12:16 pm
Hey, no matter how old you are those bassists kick ass. Anyway, my top five would be

5.Dave Brockie (Even though he lacks great instrumental talent, he's the man.)
4.Victor Wooten
3.John Entwistle (The Who)
2.Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)
1.Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers)

actaually, while Brockie is a sub-standard Guitarist, I aways thought he was a damn good bass player. his Death Piggy stuff
The way he can sing and play always got me. I've always liked playing along to Death Piggy songs. I do fine with the bassline, but throw on the vocals and I get all screwed up.

What did you guys use to spew the audience back then? Did you at all? Also, feel free to just start telling any Dim Time stories without being asked, if you have anything memorable.

Do you have the setlist for this show?
Mike Bishop was my favorite new Gwar player after I left, a real nice guy and he never disrespected me once. I hope he is doing well.
Mike Bishop hangs out at another, bigger GWAR fan site. He seems to be doing great. He left GWAR in 94', played with his other band Kepone, and went back to GWAR for WKE, and was teaching Musicology at the University of Virginia until his P.H.D ran out last year. Right now he's looking for a new band, and is trying out to play bass for a member of Modest Mouse's solo project.
9  Just for fun! / Bootlegs / Re-uploading everything, posting them on a new site on: June 02, 2009, 07:15:10 am
Yeah, I'm going to be re-uploading almost everything I've posted here, and uploading them to a new site, where they'll stay up a little longer. I'm a big procrastinator, so it might take awhile though. Some new bootlegs are also on the way.

5. Beefcake the Mighty (GWAR)
4. Klaus Flouride (Dead Kennedys)
3. Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers)
2. John Entwistle (The Who)
1. Les Claypool (Primus)

This is the only list you'll see GWAR and the Who together. Ahahahahahaha.

Les Claypool is GREAT!
Metallica shouldve let him in

I don't think Metallica and Les' style would of gone well together.
He can play almost anything, he's really flexible. I think he could easily change his style to fit Metallica's style.

Were you involved with or know about the Slave Pit before you sang for GWAR? If so, did Russ Bahorsky ever play a show for GWAR? Was he a guitarist as Mr. Magico, or just a side-character?
13  General Category / The Dim Times / Re: Where Is He Now? : Joey Slutman on: May 31, 2009, 09:23:38 am
My first few questions for you.
1. In Blood, Bath, & Beyond, there's some footage of you guys (and I'm certain you were in it) running around the  snowy streets of Richmond. Attacking parked cars, fighting Cardinal Syn, scaring Richmonders, and being too awesome. Do you know what the storyline was to that, and what movie it was for?
2. How many shows did you play with GWAR?
3. Do you still have any GWAR Demos or live recordings laying around, or were they all destroyed in Katrina?

15  General Category / GWAR Torrents / Re: Death Piggy free mp3s on: May 03, 2009, 02:25:11 pm
You can't because you don't have Limewire or uTorrent. You have to pay for Limewire, and Limewire is the better program, but you can download uTorrent online. You can make and download torrents with uTorrent, so that's nice too.
